Nancy Blair, Owner & Executive Director
Nancy is originally from Calgary, where she grew up hiking, biking, and skiing in the Canadian Rockies. After receiving her Honors Business Administration degree from the University of Western Ontario, she started her career in commercial lending at the Royal Bank in Toronto. As a banker, Nancy developed a passion for helping small businesses succeed and grow. She then went on to complete her MBA at the J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Chicago, with a specialization in Organization & Strategy.

After business school, Nancy joined McKinsey & Company as a strategy consultant. Her focus was on helping organizations develop long-term strategies and effective organizational models.

Most recently, Nancy was VP, Corporate Strategy for a global photo-album company, based in Minneapolis. Tiring of the big-city, corporate life, Nancy and her husband decided to move back to the mountains and make Canmore their permanent home. As the new owners of Positive People Placement, Nancy and her husband, Lutz, look forward to helping businesses in the Bow Valley with their human resources and placement needs....and of course, look forward to taking advantage of Canmore's awesome amenities.

Paul Zilligen, General Manager
Another long-time local, Paul has called Canmore and Banff home for 25+ years. After a year of globe trotting and 4 years completing his BA in Sociology at the University of Calgary, Paul returned to work for the Job Resource Centre to coordinate the Youth Connections Program. Paul moved on from the Job Resource Centre to take the helm managing the Banff Service Industry Network. Paul has worked in human resources for 8+ years and has been with Positive People Placement since early 2005. Paul is a mountain sports fanatic and spends his free time climbing rock, ice, mountaineering, kayaking, biking, and skiing. See you on the trails!

Shannon Birnie, Business Manager
Shannon has been with PPP for many years. A long-time Canmore resident, Shannon is currently juggling work and classes at the University of Calgary, where she is upgrading her Bachelor of Commerce in Tourism & Hospitality Management and Marketing with an additional concentration in Accounting.
Shannon loves to travel (Ï'll go anywhere once!") and also enjoys hiking, running, skiing, reading & eating.
