Moving to the Canmore or Banff area

If you are relocating to the Canmore or Banff area, here are a few tips:

  • Mountain living is expensive! Check out the Resources & Links section for information on Accommodation.

  • You will find the move less stressful if you have at least $500.00 saved up before you arrive.

  • Bring the right tools, clothes and gear appropriate for the type of work you're interested in. For many of our positions, we recommend that you bring outdoor work clothes, steel toed boots, safety glasses, a hard hat. If you own hand tools, it wouldn't hurt to bring them, either.

  • As soon as you arrive, arrange to have a phone number, be it a land line, a cell phone or a pre-paid pager. We can only offer you work if we can reach you!

  Coming from abroad?
  • We can only hire workers with an appropriate work visa. As soon as you're here, apply for a Social Insurance Number (S.I.N.).
  • If you are visiting Canada on a Tourist Visa, you must leave the country before applying for a Work Visa.
  • PPP cannot sponsor employees.
